Dr Volker Henning has been a specialist in orthopaedics and chirotherapy since 2003. In November 2004, he completed his optional further training in ‘Specialised Orthopaedic Surgery’. He has also acquired additional qualifications in ‘Physical Therapy’ and ‘Balneology and Medical Climatology’. In 2020, he completed training in medical quality management and in 2023 he obtained the ‘Medical Osteopathy’ (D.Ä.O.)^® diploma from the Berlin Academy of Osteopathic Medicine.

Since completing his specialist training, he has performed over 5500 operations. He specialises in hip and knee endoprosthesis as well as outpatient surgery (hand and foot surgery and knee arthroscopy). He also has extensive experience with spinal injections, both on an outpatient basis and with X-ray support in the operating theatre.

From 2005 to 2018, he worked in the UK, the United Arab Emirates and Gibraltar. From 2018 to August 2024, he worked as a senior consultant in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rheumatological Surgery at “Johanniter Krankenhaus Treuenbrietzen” in Germany.

During his time in the UK, all of his arthroplasty operations (more than 1500) were recorded in the National Joint Registry (arthroplasty register). An analysis showed that his revision rates after one year were well below the national average. The revision rate for knee arthroplasties was 0.2% (national average 0.5%) and for hip arthroplasties 0.4% (national average 0.7%).
